This morning i was running late. Waz gave me a lift to Deewhy. I swore to myself as i saw my bus pull away, my worries subsided a little when a short time later two buses arrived. I got on the second bus as it had seats, when i asked for a ticket the driver told me he couldn't change $20 and that i should pay on the next bus. I jumped off and tried to get the first bus, it pulled away. The bus driver waved me back, i had misunderstood him, he had meant i would pay on the next bus i caught (as in on the way home and that i didn't need to pay him). Ah... right. Fuck. I sat down and waited for my heart beat to slow.
This morning... I found it hard to get myself to the busstop-I hate buses. Thank God I was lucky enough to share my ride into Uni with Lauren and Tristan-what are the odds of us all being on the same bus at once?! It was fun being able to laugh and catch up on our way into Uni together...Much to the obvious dismay of the people around us; their quite bus ride was clearly interrupted!
This morning I seriously misjudged what I wanted for breakfast. Opting not to cook pre-sliced chorizo that teetered on it expiry date, I instead toasted two poppy-seed bagels. Excessive amounts amounts of cream cheese; spread so liberally that it disappeared into the abyss in the centre of the bagel, made an already overly ambitious meal more difficult to finish. As a result I felt ill for an entire train trip that thankfully took fifteen minutes less then expected.
This morning I scored a lift part way to uni. Whilst this meant a significant cut to my walk time, I still had to make my way through the treacherous broadway traffic to the brown tower of UTS. I've always feared the crossing with no lights and the never ending queues of traffic. I was glad just to have made it alive by the time I got to uni.
This morning i could'nt remember what time the bus that I usually catch in the morning was meant to arrive. It had been so long since I'd needed to be a t uni by 10:00am. I ended up being slightly later at the station than I had liked, and I didn't anticipate that the ticket machine would reject my $5 note and force me to miss the train.
This morning I went to the wrong class room and spent the next fifteen minutes looking for my class. I came into class late which wasn't the best way to spend my first day in my first writing class.
This morning I woke up early! Off to the gym. No forget it, I'd rather sleep. Reset alarm.
Alarm again? That wasn't half an hour. Snooze button.
And again.
Ten minutes to get to the station, I really need to get up. Dressed in two minutes, eaten in three, put my contacts in and stick my toothbrush in my bag. Classy. Take a meusli bar and a pear and run for the train.
First day, again. I hope the dont make us do that introduce yourself thing...
This morning was unusually quiet, not because there was anything suspiciously criminal going on, but because I wanted to sleep in. There was not the usual hustle and bustle, just an eerie breeze. This was all because I wanted to sleep in.
This morning the plum was not as nice as usual. I hate the way the pulp gets stuck under your nails when you pull the stone free of it's flesh. The stone, always annoying, hard to get rid of. Never mind, its been tossed into the gutter. Not so much guilt that way. Totally unsatisfied. If only I could get that time back!
This morning I slept through my alarm and woke up way behind schedule. I gulped down breakfast, has a quick shower and grabbed the first set of clothes I could find - regardless of whether or not they were clean... :s - then ran for the bus. The bus waited for me and about 5 others - undoubtedly in the same situation - and departed "13 minutes late"(as offered by the driver... huffily.) Nevermind though - I arrived here to class half an hour early after all.
This morning I was awoken by drilling due to our bathroom renovation. I complained about it the whole way to uni on the train to my friend who was more concerned with the fact my ticket cost half the price of hers. Got to love that little silver sticker.
This morning I rolled out of bed knowing my first class in this country was only a few hours away. I knew this was a big moment for me and I needed energy, a good breakfast. The mini fridge was humming, reminding me of itself, and I strolled over to take a look inside. My options were old milk and a block of cheese. Oh well. Maybe my stomach won't growl too much as I meet people in my very first class. The walk over took about five minutes. Could I make it without eating? Oh look, a McDonalds.
This morning I caught the train into uni. It took two hours, and I had relished the break from the long commute that the holidays had provided. My carriage was full of high school students making their way down the mountains for school. Their parents had decided that the travel was better for their child than the local schools.
This morning i slept on the train. I always sit at the back of the third carriage from the end so noone can wake me up but today some old lady slept on my shoulder. Super weird and not the nice lovey feeling I get with babies cause she smelt like rotting cardboard. Change of carriages, running towards the front end. Got off and walked through the tunnel. I missed that guy that always sings "Apologise" with his face all passionately screwed up. I will pay him next time he is there.
